Redland midfielder Blake Grewar has been rewarded for his outstanding season by winning the club’s Best and Fairest award, the Dowling Medal at the Bombers Awards Night staged on Friday night

Grewar (95 votes) led the count from round three and polled in fifteen of a possible eighteen games. His winning margin was 37 votes from Tom Salter (58) and Peter Yagmoor (57)

NEAFL Rising Star Hayden Bertoli-Simmonds (52) was in fourth place with another midfielder Damian Steven (47) in fifth

Bomber midfielder Hayden Bertoli-Simmonds has been crowned the 2016 NEAFL Rising Star at the competitions night of nights staged at Daltone House in Sydney last Sunday night.

Hayden beat a crack field of up and coming NEAFL talent to win the award via his Round 1 nomination against the Canberra Demons at Gunghalin.

In winning the award Hayden followed in the footsteps of former AFL listed team mates in Paul Hunter (2014) and Matt Uebergang (2015).

Applications are now being called for the position of Senior Coach – Redland Football Club (Part-Time) for the 2017 NEAFL season.
