Welcome to Redland AFC

Report: JEFF STEPHENSON

WHEN misfortune strikes the one – then the two – inevitably it can lead to someone else’s very good fortune indeed.

Such is the case in point for Redland ruckman Jarrod Huddy, who has grabbed his NEAFL opportunity with his two very big hands, rueing, for sure, the demise of his two mentors in the one instance and making every post a winner in the other.

While injuries have now anointed him and James O’Donnell as the Bombers’ key ruckmen, Jarrod made his debut in the opening round against Canberra Demons.

Report: JEFF STEPHENSON

REDLAND defender Adrian Williams thinks the last month and a bit has seen him play his best football in his five years with the Bombers and is confident the rich vein will continue to flourish as the season hits the all-important run home.

The ex-Tasmanian has been the Bombers’ most consistent player over this period playing strong possession footy at centre half-back, while negating the play of some of the NEAFL’s most damaging key forwards in the process.

Report: Jeff Stephenson

LONG-TERM injuries to both of Redland’s key ruckmen have put a dampener on the club’s prospects for the second half of the NEAFL season, but have provided an opportunity for up and coming prospect Dylan Adkins.

HOW is it you can play with one high profile Melbourne metropolitan team for a couple of seasons and turn around and win a couple of major Victorian country league premierships with another team in those very same years?

Not easy, that’s for sure.

But it’s the unique achievement experienced by Boyd Bailey when he left Morwell in 2013 to play with VFL club Frankston.
