Report: JEFF STEPHENSON

IT’S no good lamenting what might have been.

All the “what ifs” in the world won’t change reality and the reality is that after two matches Redland Bombers are 0-2 and while both losses have been highly respectable – is there such a thing as a respectable loss? – they are losses nonetheless.

Jack Rolls knows well and good the truism of the above statement.

Kids hand players their jumpers for 2018

A GREAT night was had on Thursday when Redland senior-listed players plus rookies were presented with their jumpers by members of the Victoria Point Sharks juniors.

A crowd of almost 150 was on hand to watch as the youngsters made the presentations and, in turn, were handed a special memento of the occasion by each player as they received their jumper for season 2018.

The junior players were thanked especially by Redland coach Leigh Harding, who hoped all of them could go on and become future players for the Bombers.

Report: JEFF STEPHENSON

MATTHEW Hammelmann announced his intentions when he kicked his season off to a flyer with a powerhouse five-goal display against Southport at Scottsdale Park in an otherwise disappointing start to season 2018 for the Bombers.

While pleased with his own input, Matt suggested the Bombers needed to apply more pressure and for longer as they chart there way through this NEAFL season.

He thought the opening 30 minutes of the match was played on Redland’s terms.
